林旭东 | Xudong Lin

1997 至 2001 年就读于山东工艺美术学院雕塑专业,获学士学位。2003 年 3 月赴法留学。2005年至2008年就读于法国勒阿浮尔高等艺术学院-Ecolesupérieure d'art du Havre,攻读造型艺术硕士学位。主攻装置、雕塑、公共艺术.获法 国国家高高等造型艺术文凭 DNSEP 硕士学位。2009年7月 任教于上海理工大学,动画与公共艺术系。
专攻雕塑和装置的林旭东不断地探索和发现着新材料，近年转向对废弃材料的有效再利用。由废弃机械零件组成的自然之兽，将本质上互相抗衡和排斥的人类工业文明与自然合二为一。似乎暗示着通过有意识的转换和改变，人类与自然和谐共存的可能性。
Lin is constantly exploring the possibilities of new materials for his sculpture and installation. Lin’s leopard sculpture is constructed from discarded mechanical parts. Bringing together the waste of human industrialization and a creature from the natural world, this work suggests the possibility of a reconciliation between the two conflicting parties through conscious change.
