肖丰 | Feng Xiao

1962年生于湖北武汉，1983年毕业于湖北美术学院油画专业，华中师范大学历史学博士，教授。历任华中师范大学美术学院院长、华中师范大学当代艺术研究所所长。现为湖北省美术院院长。
对于出生成长于湖北武汉的肖丰，他所表现的江南被赋予了想象。于肖丰而言，江南是汉文化的遗址，而在其中过着现代化生活的汉文化遗民与这个名族的文化遗址产生了强烈的反差。通过捕捉和描绘历史的碎片，肖丰试图赋予风景某种深度隐喻，表达他对时代之间，个体与时代之间的联结的思考。
《江南》描绘的竹林呈现一种曲径通幽之感，仿佛是繁华都市的一处避风港。而阴暗深沉的色调，营造出一种不安的气息，似乎是他对急剧变化的时代的精神感应。
The subject of Xiao Feng’s landscape is a view of Jiang Nan’s bamboo forest. For Xiao who was born in Wuhan, Hubei province, his Jiang Nan landscape is enbedded with his own imagination. In Xiao’s mind, Jiang Nan is the source of Han culture and a site host to many remnants of this culture. The current Han descendants living a modernized life make an interesting contrast with the traditional site. Xiao attempts to add metaphorical meanings to the historical fragments found in the landscape. The bamboo forest is a harbor outside the city, but in Xiao’s painting it is veiled and murky.
