孙尧 | Yao Sun

1974年11月 出生于上海市，1998年毕业于中国美术学院 获学士学位，并获优秀毕业生称号，2001年毕业于上海大学美术学院（师从王劼音教授）获硕士学位，2012年毕业于中国美术学院（师从许江、司徒力、焦小健教授）获博士学位，并获2012年度中国美院优秀博士毕业论文。
孙尧通常运用图像处理软件重新描绘取材于照片的影像。这些影像经过特殊的处理变得熟悉又陌生，可见又模糊。近看之下只有回旋流动的色彩，远观之后才能发现人物的形象。孙尧不仅将人物的面容和躯体以渗透性的笔法融入景物，似乎也通过这种方式将人物的情绪和精神状态融入了自然，揭示了人和自然之间根本性的共生关系：人其实就是自然，不在自然之外，而在自然之中，它们之间只能互相体验，而不能进行对视。孙尧的作品自始至终都在探讨三个世界间的联系: 一是自然世界即现实世界，二是我们认知的世界,三是我们未知但向往的世界。
Sun Yao often uses processed photos in his paintings. The images of human faces and bodies become both familiar and estranged after processing. Sometimes they seem to be identifiable, while from a different angle they might become unrecognizable. In doing so, Sun Yao integrates the mood and mental state of the figure into the landscape. He reveals the symbiotic relationship between human and the nature. Concluding that human is indeed one with nature, Sun is consistently referring to the relationship between three worlds—the real world, the world as perceived by us and the unknown world.
