陳漫天,作為一位畫家,慾望與信仰之間的平衡與掙扎貫穿了他目前為止的整個藝術生涯,在《頌藏》系列中,他紀錄了西藏修行者的日常,現代社會中的克己修行。在這一系列作品中,我們把所有畫以外的因素都拋開,其實畫面中的構圖,色彩,細節都展開的非常直接而且自然,也就是說越看越舒服,風雪,天空,陽光,包括筆觸上的細節,當然畫面背後所包含的力量和情感就不是用言語能說的清的,但一切都展現的非常坦然,正如珠穆朗瑪一樣。
In 2013 he visited Tibet for meditation and Buddhist thought study where he began his 'Ode of Tibet'/《頌藏》 series, with the rapid development of the Chinese economy there have been some delicate conversions which represents his position between desire and faith, shown in the 'Ode of Tibet' series, especially in his painting of 'Pathos'/《悲》.
Mantian joined Hunan Painting& Calligraphy Institute as a specially invited painter in 1996. Later becoming employed as art designer and chief visual inspector in a number of advertising firms. In 2000, Mantian entered the field of fashion modeling and started delineating fashion models in his painting- 'Mermaid'/《金魚•美人》 series which reflected the relevance between the model material society and the female characters and the conflict between human civilization and the nature, by the veiled term of Goldfish/金魚( the goldfish was first domesticated from less-colorful carp in ancient China, several distinct breeds have since been developed). For Mantian himself, goldfish is no more than an artificial monster, a creature of human greed. Since the success of 'Mermaid' in mainland China, Chen Mantian has also been well known as “Painter of Oriental Beauty”.
From 2011, Mantian started his inward world journey, 'Goldfish and Wu Xing ( The study of the Chinese zodiac and the five elements: Wood/木, Fire/火, Earth/土, Metal/金, and Water/水. ) ' series/《金魚•五行》 and 'Goldfish and Buddha' series/《金魚•佛》 have been painted along with the balance and the struggle between desire and faith, "A man with no desires has no humanity, but the lack of faith could destroy a man." said Chen Mantian.
